“The Weather Project was designed to encourage looking. We are all so busy, who has time to simply look up at the sky? We all think we see it, but do we? When was the last time you REALLY looked?” Suzan Scott
I am an artist and a dedicated observer of the natural world. Since childhood, I have loved looking at the sky and been moved by its beauty and vastness. In a world that often seems too busy for simple wonders, I decided I needed to find a way to ground myself. Looking up was, for me, a natural place to begin, so as a prompt to my own powers of observation and to help myself be "in the moment" I developed the The Weather Project.
The project is an ongoing visual exploration. I use observation, photography, notes and weather data to pinpoint a moment in time. The result of this practice has been an onging body of artwork, paintings, photographs, and video.
